Culture of Fear

Another slander post on dogma.

Some German publisher refuses to publish a certain book because it talks about honorary murder.
And it's not that in itself that made the publisher refuse the book.
THe exact reason was : quote : " After the Mohammed cartoon in Sweden we feel that anything criticising (( READ :: CRITISISING , not INSULTING )) Islam is a dangerous teritory wich we rather avoid ".

What the Fuck ...
Not allowed to critisize Islam...

For those who don't know , let me explain what an honor murder is.
In ISLAM women are not allowed to have sex before (arranged) marriage.
Women who commit adultery or have sex before marriage are bringing dishonor to the family.
The family can then regain their honor by getting rid of the one who caused it.
And it's ALWAYS the women who are killed off .
Yes KILLED , not expelled , KILLED.

Let me "critisize" ISLAM a bit further.

It sais in the QUR'AN that a man can beat a disobedient wife as long as the stick he beats her with is no thicker then his wrist.

Not too long ago some prominent IMAM ( like a christian cardinal/bishop ) refused to shake the hand of Angela Merkel.
Who is the chancelor of Germany, wich can be compared to president of the United States.
And that, just because she is ... a woman ...

According to the QUR'AN : Rape can only be proven before an Islam court if there have been FOUR WITNESSES !!

If there are no FOUR WITNESSES for the ACCUSER (wich would be the raped woman) in a Sharia court , her case is AUTOMATICALLY DISMISSED.
Does it need any brain to come to the conclusion that the perpetrator usually goes free?

Some MUSLIM politician in my country once happily blurted on tv that he thinks that " cutting the hand of thiefs is a just punishment " .... JUST !

I am well aware then some people might find that I'm only polarising the situation further by my attitude.
But I must heavily disagree.
To me it's obvious that these situations can have no place in our society.
That we can not allow to create a culture of fear around the disagreement between two already clashing cultures. That is the ultimate Taboo. That is what allowed the holocaust. Omerta !
Our entire Declaration of Human Rights and civil law is to PREVENT these situations from happening.
And yes !
I am equally aware that probably most Muslims don't agree with it, that the majority of them are peaceloving.
But where are they ??
I don't even see the parents of the local thugs speak up ! And not only in my country, but France and Holland too!
So how the hell am I to expect the international Muslim community to stand up against these kinds of exclamations ?

- implementing sharia courts
- not being able to even publically critisise the issue of honorary murder
- not going to school and declining on all society's obligations or duties , BUT at the same time still expecting to get all the rights ... JUST because our public schools and offices do not allow openly religious symbols ( so not only headgears, but crosses, keppels etc also )
It's clear to me that something's got to give here.

In a democracy, you have the freedom of speach.
Wich in heart means this.
You have the right to say what is on your mind.
But you do not have the right to willfully insult others.
So ....
What I stated above are documented facts ....
It's not really an opinion in the first place.
But documented facts *smiles..*
If they are insulting in any way, According to the Culture of Fear, I should refrain from voicing those FACTS in the future.
Because they are insulting.
Well ....
Let's analyse the frist commendment a bit further ...
An opinion can be insulting ....
That's why it's an opinion. Everyone's got one and they don' t always coincide.
As long as your actions (if any) based upon that opinion are not harmfully reflecting on the object of that opinion, you are according to our law : not doing anything wrong.
We are allowed to voice our opinion about matters, and as long as they are in pace with Human Rights we are allowed to use public forums for them.
Censorship is what happens when a valid concern is publically silenced.
When we are no longer allowed to voice our opinions, wich is what it is , just an opinion (and we do base our system of democracy on just that , opinions on who to vote for ) , when we are no longer allowed to raise valid concerns we are giving in to a culture of fear.

So let me voice my final concern on why I think the unwillingness to get to the bottom of this problem exists.
One fourth of the world's population is Muslim.
The rest is a riff raff of other religions, Jew, Christian , Buddhist etc.
So ....
That's a bit obvious isn't it.
Islam is the most widespread religion in the entire world.

Let's face it, apart from Saoudi Arabia, and some parts of Irak and Iran, people are poor, very poor. When people have nothing and are in constant danger , you have little left to turn to BUT religion.
And there are governments of those countries who see no problem in using extremism and fanaticsm in the form of religion as a loin cloth for their political interests......

If you put one and one together ....
you get to what I feel is the heart of the culture of fear around islam
