That is not what music is !
Music is expressing what you can't do in any other way, not words , not sight, touch or smell, just sound, and the primordial reaction your body had to it.
But it's not only that, it's to appreciate how they make it , some chords on any instrument, are difficult to play , it takes skill to make it sound pleasant and .. fitting in the theme.
Through out the ages, humans have taken it as an evidence of the presence of "soul" in a human being , if one was to translate his or her most inner and raw emotions and feelings into sound that not only sounded pleasant to the ears but also to the mind.
The latter only coming true if one could relate to the song , meaning it feels and inspired as life itself does, not a fairytale, not a pipedream. But real life, as harsh as it can be. It's the only real thing that one has. The now.
Because life is harsh and can be bitter , but I have let myself be told that one has to take big bite of something bitter before one can truely appreciate a small nibble of something sweet.

You can see he's not really singing only because of the way the audience behaves, they don't feel it .. what do you expect, if the performer doesnt then the audience sure won't, or they'd be hella stupid...
apart fro mthe fact that it sounds EXACTLY the same as the studio version he acts poorly .. he never felt it in the first place or he'd be able to mimic the muscle tension in his face .. second ... the lead singer of Metallica sang his concerts for real even his voice was in a piss poor condition to do it ! AND IT STILL ROCKED ! .. kinda
The movement of the lips does not coordinate with the actual sound .. wich is usually a big indication he's only pretending to sing ... when using wires you don't usually encounter what one might call radio transmission delay ... pffffffff
All the guitarists are not even trying to keep up the pretence of actually playing !
At least teh uhm ... "hip hop guy" is trying .. kinda .. you can even almost see he's going to go off against the lead singer after this performance of what can only be called je-mon-fou'tism .. wich is french for " i don't give a shit ".
You can even see the friggin relief in the face of the hip hop guy when they get the audience to clap in coordidance !
The lead singer's hiding his face behind sun glasses and overall behaves in a way I'd expect myself to behave after a night of partying and little sleep.
Hip hop guy who jumped around more then half the time of the lead singer is sweating half as less then the lead singer !!

The most famous of the oeuvre of Carl Orff .. is Carmina Burana "o fortuna" .. if you don't know hwat i'm talking about , just listen, one bet you'll know it .. imagine sitting there, there are seven choirs ( i think ) who sing in coordinance with eachother, without amplifiers of any kidn .. in an auditorium that is build and constructed in a way to make sound travel as fast and imposant as possible .. a thing they 'd figured out how to do before the birth of christ, by mathematics only, the same mathematics we still use and rely on this day, to build our bridges so they won't collaps, our towers they won't fall down ... isn't that absolutely bonechilling ?

To me , the mere thought of it while listening can make the hairs on my arms stand up.
Even the thought about it is real.
The 'dirigent' , conducter, he feels it , so do the singers and the musicians .. I can imagine the audience does too, you can hear it by the sound of the applause at the end, it's ment, truely ment however rudely cut off by the film maker/editor.

Besides, the entire piece of it , lastin over an hour , has a striking resemblance to .. uhm .. this is going to sound weird, but i did one of my thesises about it ... the tarot, although not at first sight, something to do with a certain rythm (before you even go there, i passed cum laude with that ) .. wich translates to sun worship and in the end . catholicism *shrug* .. safe to say i'm an uhm ... agnostic , not a true atheist. But as all things that I always absorbed into my mind quite willingly and even enthousiastically , is how to defend myself against willful influence and more then harmless ,manipulation .. in other words, if someone sais , don't do this or don't get close to that .. obviously i'd want to know why they don't want me to, no matter what reason they themselves say and I'd find the answer one way or another just because I want to .. and so I can and thus will, just because I want to.

It is also a thing I despise about modern culture.
That we all like to praise and uphold or national heritage in the form of art, paintings, music or whatever. We all like to talk about it , discuss it's angles and the way it looks, while the intention of not just it's maker but the spirit of the time he lived in gets so easily oversighted.
For instance.
If you'd look at a painting of what's called, Flemish Primitives.
We see boring paintings with people who all have the same face. But that's only because we just don't see what people in that time saw.
They saw the dog on teh floor and saw it as symbol of vanity, as the mirror on the wall, only more severe. The flowers in the vase , yellow roses or forget-me-nots for secrets , lillies for purity.
The bowl of fruit with jewelry .. life, fortune and misfortune the fleeting essence of wealth, the waning of time .. and etc etc.
It's a story in an image. Your eyes need to wander and discover it's secrets. It's subtle whisperings , like a maid standing in a dark corner, or even just around the corner. Is she sitting or standing ?
We see ... people with the same faces.
In a painting where perspective wasn't truely comprehended yet. But should be appreciated because of the effort, and nice usage of paint.
Because that's what most people are told to see.
