I guess ....
I'll need to build her character then.
Since I'll be playing her more often.
Born and bred a commoner.
Her first encounter with the drow nobility was through Olath.
Who introdeced her to the others.
He payed her for pieces of gossip she could offer him for with he'd probably have better use for then herself, considering her position.
She had no business trying to make him do anything for her.
After that, she became a bit arrogant and bigheaded with the attentions payed to her by the drow upperclass.
So she was quickly discarded and returned a commoner stealing food and little comforts.
For some strange reason she survived the destruction of the old city and found the others again in Eils'Uuthli, where she was first ignored. Until the moment Blue felt her power being cut from underneath her by Aalak. Blue tried to win her loyalty by bribing her into obedience. (( lol, don't ask, just a matter of account sharing .. hush ))
Wich didn't really work since Rizz's opportunist nature.
Rizz is not stupid.
She felt the change in balans as well, not long after Blue started to feel it herself.
Such things are always noticeable in the slightest of things.
The way Aalak talked to her during some 'awkward moments'... they looked at eachother and definatly after Olath's betrayel.
Even tho what was portrayed to the outside was heavily differing from what was really going on.
Rizzeth didn't care.
As long as she is safe and sound.
In that regard she is complacent and lazy.
If she where human, she'd probably get fat being in power.
But
Blue being not stupid herself.
Did see Rizzeth for what she really is, so the sole reason she was appointed overseer of the building of Eils'Uuthli is because she'd probably be the first to go when the time is right.
Aalak probably allowed that because Aalak is not stupid either .. you think she'd be able to overthrow Blue if she wasn't?
It was ... intricate , delicate.
A masterly performance of deceit and lies within lies.
The irony about it all, that Olath probably had little to do with it, at least not in or with his own knowledge.
Blue has taken the quiet exit and left on her trip when most of the world was slumbering.
Not allowed to take anything with her but some clothes, food and money.
Rizzeth is wallowing in her new position.
Not trying to get higher up, simply because at the moment she is higher up then she ever expected.
She's not used to being in power, so she will easily fall into the traps and pitfalls layed out for people being on unfamiliar terrain.
But unless she screws up beyond belief it's unlikely she will loose her position simply BECAUSE of that position. It's not a democracy and there's no such thing as a drow union (well, exclude some vieuws on Vhaeraun maybe tho that's arguable).
It doesn't mean that her position can't be undermined.
Such a thing is even highly probable.
In the end that's the only thing that matters, who cares for titles, if you're not benefitting from them?
Now...
in the end, Rizzeth might not be stupid.
But she can be shortsighted.
Underestimating her is , as such a thing always is, a mistake.
Yet, she might be easily overestimated.
